What is the role of emotions – be it inspiration or fear – in an orchestral musician’s or conductor’s work – emotions connected with making music or emotions carried and communicated by music? Tapiola Sinfonietta’s this week’s visiting conductor Clemens Schuldt and Sinfonietta’s bassoonist Bridget Allaire-Mäki talk about their work and emotions the performing artist has to go through in their work. Also music itself communicates via emotions – how does a conductor in one hand and an orchestral musician on the other hand process and deal with these emotions?
